UK GIVEAWAY - Harback copy of LOVER AT LAST - J. R. WARD

Totally spoiling you guys this month! I received a copy of Lover at Last (the 11th book in the Blackdagger Brotherhood series) from Piatkus (thank you, thank you, thank you soooo much!) but also had it pre-ordered. They both arrived at the same time and I had no idea I was getting a copy from the publisher! However, what this means is that I have decided to host another giveaway rather than to return the book.

Unfortunately, I can only leave this open for UK participants because I'm a poor student and the postage to send it abroad will be massive! If the book was smaller I would have considered it but it's about 600 pages, hardback and MASSIVE. Sorry guys :(.

The rules are as follows:

  • Must be 13+ (especially for the genre of this book).
  • I reserve the right to disqualify anyone who breaks the rules of this giveaway.
  • Fill in the Rafflecopter form below.
  • Must be a UK resident/ have a UK postal address.
  • The winner has 48 hours to contact me with a response otherwise another winner will be picked.
It's that simple guys! Good luck and I hope you enjoy :).

Lover At Last (Black Dagger Brotherhood, #11)

Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another....

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young—just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand.

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions... but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together... finally become one.

Featured Blogs: Book Cupid & Bookworm in Love

Q: Have you ever read a book that you thought you would hate -- ? Did you end up hating it? Did you end up loving it? Or would you never do that?
The first one was Harry Potter. As you can see just by looking around my blog that has drastically changed. The first time I read the series was Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets in Welsh. I read the first page and didn't like it. At that age I wasn't willing to give it a chance again but when I did WOW, so addicted and still am.
Another one was all of the Sarah Waters books. As a fantasy/ sci-fi/ dystopia lover I wasn't expecting to enjoy any of her books. Again, proven wrong and absolutely loved all of them that I have read so far!

REVIEW: Zenn Scarlett - Christian Schoon

Zenn Scarlett - Christian Schoon
Zenn Scarlett

When you're studying to be exoveterinarian specializing in exotic, alien life forms, school... is a different kind of animal.

Zenn Scarlett is a resourceful, determined 17-year-old girl working hard to make it through her novice year of exovet training. That means she's learning to care for alien creatures that are mostly large, generally dangerous and profoundly fascinating. Zenn’s all-important end-of-term tests at the Ciscan Cloister Exovet Clinic on Mars are coming up, and, she's feeling confident of acing the exams. But when a series of inexplicable animal escapes and other disturbing events hit the school, Zenn finds herself being blamed for the problems. As if this isn't enough to deal with, her absent father has abruptly stopped communicating with her; Liam Tucker, a local towner boy, is acting unusually, annoyingly friendly; and, strangest of all: Zenn is worried she's started sharing the thoughts of the creatures around her. Which is impossible, of course. Nonetheless, she can't deny what she's feeling.

Now, with the help of Liam and Hamish, an eight-foot sentient insectoid also training at the clinic, Zenn must learn what's happened to her father, solve the mystery of who, if anyone, is sabotaging the cloister, and determine if she's actually sensing the consciousness of her alien patients... or just losing her mind. All without failing her novice year....

Harry Potter #7

This is a meme hosted by me here at my blog :).The aim of this meme is to share with fellow bloggers a character, spell, chapter, object or quote from the books/ films/ J. K. Rowling herself or anything Potter related! I will be picking a topic within HP to focus on per week and then if anyone wants to take part feel free!

This weeks is a quote from J. K. Rowling on the Fifty Shades of Grey series. It cracked me up so I hope you enjoy it :).

'Just think how many books I could've sold if Harry has been a bit more creative with his wand.'
 - J. K. Rowling

This cracks me up every time - it certainly would have been a different kind of book!

VOTE FOR MEE! And a potential giveaway :D

So Julianna Scott, the author of The Holders, has run a competition in which she has left it up to us as her fans to name a character in the next book of the series. I have been lucky enough to get into the final choices and all that has to be done now is the voting by everyone to pick their favourite name! The prize is a signed copy of The Holders, a mention in her next book
and the naming of a character within the series! How awesome is that?

What I'm asking is for your help. If you guys could pop on over and vote for the name Niamh Celene McGloughin that would be AMAZING! If I win I am thinking of hosting a giveaway to celebrate of my ARC copy of The Holders :). I would love to win this - the book was absolutely incredible and blew me away. Now I just need a little help from my friends :).

Top Ten Tuesday #10

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted over at the wonderful blog; Broke and Bookish. This weeks Top Ten is Top Ten Characters I Would Crush On If I Were Also A Fictional Character! This should be fun :D. My top ten are in no particular order:

1. Rhage from J. R. Ward's BDB series.

2. Ron Weasley from J. K. Rowling's series.

3. Sirius Black from J. K. Rowling's Harry Potter series.

4. Alex from Lauren Oliver's Delirium series.

5. Kerrick from Maria V. Snyder's Healer series.

6. Clayton Danvers from Kelley Armstrong's Women of the Otherworld series.

It's only six for me! I don't tend to crush on many book characters to be honest. I mean, I enjoy them as characters and can totally relate to them and want them as friends, but very rarely think oh yes! You are mine haha. Guaranteed I've forgotten some that I will read in some of the posts put up by you guys :).

REVIEW: Scent of Magic - Maria V. Snyder

Scent of Magic - Maria V. Snyder

Hunted, Killed—Survived?

As the last Healer in the Fifteen Realms, Avry of Kazan is in a unique position: in the minds of her friends and foes alike, she no longer exists. Despite her need to prevent the megalomanical King Tohon from winning control of the Realms, Avry is also determined to find her sister and repair their estrangement. And she must do it alone, as Kerrick, her partner and sole confident, returns to Alga to summon his country into battle.

Though she should be in hiding, Avry will do whatever she can to support Tohon’s opponents. Including infiltrating a holy army, evading magic sniffers, teaching forest skills to soldiers and figuring out how to stop Tohon’s most horrible creations yet; an army of the walking dead—human and animal alike and nearly impossible to defeat.

War is coming and Avry is alone. Unless she figures out how to do the impossible ... again.
