'Reading a book is like re-writing it for yourself. You bring to a novel, anything you read, all your experience of the world. You bring your history and you read it in your own terms.'- Angela Carter

Showcase Sunday #69

It's Sunday again so we all know that it's time for Showcase Sunday. It's a lovely weekly meme hosted by Vicky over at Books, Biscuits and Tea, and it allows us to show off all the lovely buys this week. I love this meme as it gives a chance for us to show and browse so many books!

Another awesome week book wise! I received a couple of books for review, bought some really awesome ones and got auto-approved by Random House Children's on NetGalley! Really can't go wrong. Here's what I got this week:

Half Bad - Sally Green (I've been waiting for this for too long!)

Thanks so much for these! :)

NetGalley & Edelweiss

What did you guys get this week?

  1. I have the exact same copy of Little Women. I can't wait to start reading it :)

Two Boy Kissing sounds good. I recently read How They Met by David Levithan and really enjoyed that.

  2. I haven't really heard of any of the books before however the 2 Piatkus books look very interesting and i hope you enjoy reading those, You've got some great books from NG and EW too! Very jealous and happy reading :)

  3. Two Boys Kissing!—*first reaction to your haul* =)
I’ve only read one book by Levithan, Every Day, and I absolutely loved it! Gonna keep an eye on your review of this one. And Half Bad… another one I can’t wait to read, although I’m getting a bit anxious with the mixed reviews I’ve been encountering lately…
Great haul, overall. And I really love the vibe of your blog!

  4. OOoh nice!! I requested The Forever Song and Kady Cross's book. Got approved for The Forever Song, but not Kady's yet. Hoping they approve me soon! Read the entire series with Netgalley, so I'm hoping the pubs can remember that! ;)

    Happy Reading!

    Here's my STS

    Have a GREAT day!

    Old Follower :)

  5. I'm in the middle of reading Half Bad just now and I'm really enjoying it :D
Oooh, I love that cover of Little Women. The version I've got isn't that nice so I may have to get that one.
I haven't heard of Rain before but now I'm really excited for it! I love the sound of Thirteen too!
Great haul, Leah! Happy reading :D

  6. I LOVE the cover of Little Women and I don't actually own a copy myself yet so will look out for it in the shops. It saysVintage Classics on it, doesn't it?

Hope you enjoy all your new reads :)

  7. The Forever Song! Woohooo. I was approved for it too and I'm so excited to read it. I bought Half Bad last week and looking forward to picking that one up too. Little Women has such a cute cover. Ooh George R R Martin. Saw quite a few of those books on The Works website for like £1.99 or £1 and I might just have to give in... Great haul, Enjoy :)

  8. Two Boys Kissing! Adore It. Also, Murder Most Ladylike looks amazing. And I love the cover of Thirteen. Happy reading!

  9. Oooo very jealous of The Forever Song. I can't wait to see how that one ends. I've only read the first book in Kady Cross' series but I really enjoyed it. I didn't know there was another one so I'll have to add that to my list.

  10. Everyone seems to be reading Half Bad, not sure I'm going to jump on that bandwagon just yet. Can't wait for new Julie Kagawa (well I am waiting, but mostly because I thought the US edition would be US only approvals - will wait for Mira Ink now or just buy it). I also requested The Rain, love the sound of it (and hopefully we won't have endless rain while I'm reading it).

  11. That Touch of Magic has such a lovely cover! And I LOVE this edition of Little Women - I read it when I was about 16 and I remember absolutely loving it. :)

Also, congrats on being auto approved!

Please leave a comment, I love reading each and every one of them :).
This blog is an award free zone. Thank you for your thoughtfulness and I appreciate them :).
