'Reading a book is like re-writing it for yourself. You bring to a novel, anything you read, all your experience of the world. You bring your history and you read it in your own terms.'- Angela Carter

Showcase Sunday #62

It's Sunday again so we all know that it's time for Showcase Sunday. It's a lovely weekly meme hosted by Vicky over at Books, Biscuits and Tea, and it allows us to show off all the lovely buys this week. I love this meme as it gives a chance for us to show and browse so many books!

Hey guys! How are you all? I started my new job this week in a college library! It's great and the people I work with are absolutely lovely. On the other hand, having a job has made my book buying habits even worse. This week I bought another couple of bargains from Asda and Tesco, plus a few others. I've also booked a hotel ready for London Book Fair with my partner, hopefully my mate from uni and Ula from Blog of Erised! Really excited for this! :D

  1. The Shining Girls looks really good, I've heard lots of things about it.

Congrats on starting the new job, I hope you're enjoying it.

We'll have to catch up at London Book Fair, although I suspect I'll be working a lot of the time. :(

  2. Congrats on starting your new job, Leah! Are you enjoying it? :)
Ooh, you got some great books this week! I've had The Shining Girls out from my library for ages and I still haven't gotten around to it. But it looks awesome. I've been eyeing The Husbands Secret for a while now because it sounds really intriguing, so I'll definitely be looking forward to seeing what you think of it! Percy Jackson! <3
I wish I could go to LBF this year :( Maybe next year.
Great haul, Leah! Happy reading :D

  6. What a great haul! I have The Thirteenth Tale at home right now, but it's in Slovene so I am not sure I'll read it. I prefer untranslated books because translations often suck.
Happy reading, enjoy all these goodies! :*

  16. Haha, working in a library doesn't really help with your book buying habits, does it? :D Congrats on the job, though - it must be amazing!

I can't wait to read Vengeance - I have it on my Kindle, waiting to be read. :) Hope it's as good as Fracture was!
