'Reading a book is like re-writing it for yourself. You bring to a novel, anything you read, all your experience of the world. You bring your history and you read it in your own terms.'- Angela Carter

  1. I see we share two, but only because I have yet to read the rest! Awesome list. I look forward to starting the rest of these series. :)

  4. Raven Boys is on my list too! Love that book. And Shadow and Bone would be amazing. I could totally see that as a film series. Wow. I hope they do that.

  6. Isn't LTaylor's series being developed into a movie? I hope it didn't fall through, Karou's blue hair alone is worth watching on the big screen!

  10. I wanted to put All Our Yesterdays on my list, but then I remembered I've never seen a film where time travel works. I guess this is an ideal world list though, so I should have stuck it on!

    Here's my list.

  11. I agree there are so many on your list that would make a great movie. I hope we get to see some of them actually made. I really like that you included The Raven Boys on your list. Thanks for visiting my TTT.

  12. The Raven Boys on my list too.
I've never read The Haunting of Hill House, it's definitely on my to read list...and the book had actually been made into a movie twice. Both times under the title The Haunting.
I've seen the 1999 version and didn't like it. It used a lot of CGI too, and I think if I saw it again now...it will probably be worse since those things seem to age badly. Supposedly the 1963 version was a better movie and also more faithful.
